Chapter 3
And the seas swelled with rage, and washed the Albatross upon rocky reef of uncharted isle.
Elijah called unto Creed, and spake unto him from beneath the rising brine of the hold, saying,
Awaken Chaplain, and rise, and remove fallen timber from thy path, for the VOID hath not granted you redemption from your sins, and your penance has not been paid.
And Creed did rise, and he awakened Moradin and Tudor, and with strength of thrice they removed fallen timber, and emerged from frothy depths,
And the first tribulation was passed.
And then Viktor did beckon from yond shore, and Rykson did beckon from secluded stone, and Creed and Moradin and Tudor stood in watery desolation.
Creed called unto the VOID, and the VOID did bring forth a divine bridge, and Rykson did join the Seeker trinity, and the trinity was a pairing and again.
And Tudor constructed a ferry, and his oblation was his betrothal to the frigid waves, which he offered of the cadre without blemish before the VOID.
And fifteen score and twelve jellies did collect a sacrifice of flesh, and head, and the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
And the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, and the left hand, and the two lobes of the ears, and all his flesh.
When the sacrifice unto the VOID was complete, and was holy, the Seekers united on sandy beach, and it was good.
And the second tribulation was passed.
And a great scream from afar found Seekers ears, and when the Seekers heard the noise of the scream, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great scream from afar? And they understood that they could not ignore the great scream.
Tudor laid still, and no strength remained in him, and Elijah spake unto Creed, saying, Thus shalt thou protect Tudor, who gave sacrifice unto the VOID, and he shall be left unspoiled,
And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree fallen nearby even unto the hyssop that is fallen: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
And Rykson and Viktor ran toward the great scream, and Moradin and Creed stayed in vigil.
And the great scream from afar beckoned again, and Moradin resisted no more, and Moradin ran toward the great scream, and Creed was alone with Tudor laid still, and Creed knelt beside Tudor and gazed upon him.
Elijah spake unto Creed, saying, Thus shalt thou protect Tudor, who gave sacrifice unto the VOID, and he shall be left unspoiled,
And Creed bore the burden of Tudor and ran toward the great scream, and the scream was the lure of a murderous arachnid, and Rykson and Viktor fell upon it with mighty wrath, and it did fall,
And the third tribulation was passed.
The Seekers which sat in darkness saw a burning light across the isle; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
But the light was a false light, and the light was a lure of a monstrous arachnid,
And this is the condemnation, that light is the lure of death, and the Seekers loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were hidden from evil.
And Creed did call upon the VOID a blessing, and the Seekers received the blessing from the VOID, and righteousness from the God of their salvation,
And Rykson smote with arrow and lance, and Viktor smote with rapier, and Moradin smote with axe, and Creed smote with hammer, and Tudor smote with fang and light,
And the fourth tribulation was passed.
It came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from the box opened by Viktor, that the flame baptized Moradin and burned hair and flesh, and did leave Viktor untouched.
And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Merkallen. And when he had opened the book, he found the pages were unwhole, but some remained.
Viktor rose before the Seekers, and a holy light did illuminate him, and he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
The waters of time will wash the evils away, he brought me to the headwaters of the creek on the hill, his name was Jezerah, he said water was life and washes away evil.
I questioned faith, I prayed and found peace.
One God bless us, your forgotten children, and save us from the evil of our creation, holy avatar of ALLOD lead us to Your grace and guide us with Your wisdom
And he closed the book, and sat down, And the eyes of all the Seekers were fastened on him.
And Creed saw that ALLOD was the light and the way, and Creed grasped the araphm but it was as a mountain and he was as a flea.
Elijah called unto Creed, and spake unto him, saying,
You are not worthy to carry the banner of the one God, for ALLOD has not granted you redemption, and your penance has not been paid.
And it was a rogue who shall carry the banner of ALLOD, and Viktor held the araphm aloft, and he became the first disciple of ALLOD.
As a thief is ashamed when he is found, so is Creed ashamed; he, the false prophet of the Seekers hidden under a shroud of the cloth, for his penance has not been paid.
And ALLOD did send another beast, and Elijah spake unto Creed, saying,
If ALLOD demands a blood sacrifice unto Him, then it is of you.
And He did not demand a sacrifice, and the Seekers did escape the beast,
And the fifth tribulation was passed.
And when it was day, they knew to follow the creek, and found the headwaters that flowed from the hill, and the vault was there.
And when the Seekers approached the vault of the prophet, the guardians revealed that they were arachnids, and that they were terrible.
Creed called unto the VOID and brought a blessing upon the Seekers, and he spake of Iynmar, but Iynmar was of the VOID and ALLOD was beyond the veil.
And the arachnid made Moradin as a fly in a web, and Tudor transposed Moradin and the arachnid was thwarted, and it was fallen upon by lance, and by axe, and by rapier, and it was left unmoving.
And many arachnids were one, and they were struck with acid and stone and serpent, and they were struck with lance and axe and hammer; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmovable.
And Viktor did smite the one and the one was many again.
With shield and faith did Moradin bring wrath upon the many, who were baptized in fire, and who had been one.
And the sixth tribulation was passed.
And in basin did Tudor find relief from watery burden, and Rykson came and drew water from the creek, and filled the basin, saying,
And he that burneth shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, but whosoever drinketh of the water shall never thirst; but the water that is in him shall be a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
And Creed partaketh of the water, of the one God, and placed his face, and his hands, and his neck within the basin, and did stand again with sin stuck fast.
Elijah called unto Creed, and spake unto him, saying,
And what murder he hath committed be six and again and is unclean.
And whoesoever toucheth any thing that was used in sin shall be unclean until the redemption: and he shall wash his cloths, and bathe in water, and be unclean until the redemption.
And whomsoever he toucheth that hath sinned, and hath not rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe in water, and be unclean until the redemption.
And the vessel of earth, that is beyond the door of the one God, shall be released: and the Cup of Life shall be rinsed in water.
Creed called unto Elijah, and spake unto him, and Elijah was without voice.
The Cup of Life and the vessel of earth were released from the vault, and the Seekers took of them, each one, and the vessel was named Dys, in the glory of the prophet Merkallen.
And what was once five, was now six.
And Elijah said, Go up, and bury thy prophet: for he is a prophet of the Lord.
And the Seekers surrounded the grave of the prophet and Creed stood at his head and he said unto them,
Do not be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest, who have no hope.
As smoke rises from ash unto the heavens so do those who have fallen asleep in the embrace of the Sky Father.
Iynmar tells us that we who are still alive, who are left till the world is cleansed in fire, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
For Iynmar himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the horn call of the Sky Father, and the dead of Iynmar will rise first.
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the sky to meet with the Father in the air. And so we will be with Iynmar forever.
Therefore encourage one another with these words.
And the Seekers lowered the prophet to his final rest, and he was covered with the ground upon which he had lived.
And Dys hearkened to the rest and said,
Ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek to purify this place: look unto the rock whence I am hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence star hath dug.
And there was a hole, a great hole, and a green radiance beckoned from the depths.
And the light was not a good light, a fallen star that lived in the pit and that brought evil and death to the isle. And the Seekers descended into darkness.
Creed’s gaze fell upon the unmoving Captain and he saw nothing else, and Elijah spake unto him saying,
Behold your fallen ally and bring to him the blessing of the VOID, for it is you who must bring light to darkness, and it is you who seekith redemption.
And Creed approached the unmoving Captain and he saw that he was dead.
And Creed was halted by octoccular abomination, and it spake unto Creed, saying,
Ye hath cometh to me at what time ye see the green illumination of your true god, ye shall fall down and worship the vessel which I have donned; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and what God shall deliver you out of my hands?
And Creed could no longer see the green illumination, and everything became illuminated in the red of rage, and Creed said unto the abomination,
Because ye have made your false divinity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with hammer, axe, lance, rapier, and force, and every kind of instrument of war.
Elijah called unto Creed, and spake unto him, but his words fell on ears deafened by wrath. And the wrath became stronger and enveloped Creed in a shroud of crimson.
And the wrath slowly ebbed away and Creed awoke from his rage and the abomination had been smote, and an arachnid of magma was smote, and the Captain was risen from the darkness of death,
And the final tribulation of uncharted isle was passed.
And the Albatross was made whole again, and Elijah called unto Creed, and spake unto him, saying,
Return to the Tabernacle. He awaits you there.
